WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN 2022-2023

Ms. El-Khatib



My name is Ms. El-Khatib and I am your child's kindergarten teacher.  I am very excited to be working with your child this school year.  We are going to be working on a lot of interesting topics as well as learning to read and write!  I know this is a stressful and overwhelming time and I promise you we will get through this together.  Feel free to contact me via email [email protected] and I will respond back as soon as I can.

October is all about learning letters and their sounds.  For some Halloween fun, go on a spooky letter hunt.  Have the family draw and cut out ghosts or monsters and write a letter or sight word that we have learned on it.  Then put them around the house.  Give your child a pillowcase.  You and your child can go room to room.  Find the ghost or monster in that room and then find something in that room that begins with the letter.  Put the Halloween character and the item in the pillowcase and move on to the next location.  At the end, you can give your child a treat for finding all of the items!

*Our class lines up at the front of the school at 8:30.  On half days, pick up time is 1:00.  On full days, pick up time is 2:40.  If someone special is picking up your child, please send me a note or email as soon as possible.
